Styling with pink gerberas ... and a tablescape for two ...

I started with doing a flower arrangement for my dear reader ... Adarsh ... over at EkSparsh ... a lovely lady ... whom I admire for the social causes she writes about on her blog ... and so Adarsh look what you made me do ...

... along came a coffee break ... ( its almost monsoon ) here in Navi Mumbai ... and wooopsy ...

... I ended up doing this tablescape ... all with my favourite colors and elements included ...

... I have a thing for river bed rocks and pebbles ... white linen (and pink too) ... and ofcourse silver ware ...
... theres something charming about tea cups ... I hope to grow to be an ol' lady with a hell of a cup collection ... and ton loads of friends to share tea times with ...
... since the seasons are changing ... I am back to buying flowers ... they really don't look happy from one day to the other in the heat months ...

... and since monsoons are just about to make a touch down in this part of my world ... its time for tea ... coffee and ton loads of flowers ...
... pink is all the rage ... these days in our home ... ;) ... well its not like we give my husband much of an option ...but he's one hell of a supportive guy (read that as sweetiepie)... :)

... a lot of times I do usethe stems I cut off ... in the same arrangement ... fills up the vase and theres more flexibility in standing the flowers at the odd angles you'd want them to stay in ...
and quite impromptu ... allthe gerbera stems ... sort of looked cute to me filling up the centre of the arrangement ...
... our shell collection these days is in a clear glass vase ... my favourite piece from Illuminations ,Sanfrancisco ... and the flowers just looked made for this glass cylinder ...

... hope you enjoyed my lil' afternoon do with my lil' girl ... do let me know your thoughts ... its always so wonderful to hear your side of the story ... and ofcourse , hey Adarsh ... this ones for you ... :)

  7. Hi Rekha,
Thanks so much for taking the time to appreciate my efforts ... this is what I love doing best ... as a young graduate out of Design School .. I used to get goosebumps, just thinking people pay me for doing all this ... its a way of life for me ... and it feel wonderful that you enjoy what you see on my blog ... yes, the dining table story is very close to my heart ... waited years to do it :)
Since we sail the same boat with our lil' girls ... you sure will understand ,that I wanted to make it very special and personal for her ... and so there was a lot of labour of love and mommy's hands on projects ... didn't want it to be a prepackaged party ... your right ... hope she knows how special she is to me when she grows up. :)

  29. I love the tablescape you put together; pink gerbera daisies are so cheerful, and I adore them placed with the teacups. I too have an affinity for collecting teacups and already probably have more than I need, but at least I will be prepared should I ever host many friends for tea! Also, thank you for visiting and commenting on Under A Paper Moon.
