There is surely a diwali feel in the air ... the decor is setting the mood ... its fun to experiment and I am having a rose color thing happening this festive season ...
... ah ! well along with the festive bling-bling ... I couldn't resist the Zardozi work on tulle ( net fabric as we popularly call it in India) ... as my table covering ...
... crush tissue napkins ... I loved them with the rose color of the table cover ... I am always hard up on matching my napkin rings for the table settings I create ... well this time I wasn't ... had some gota ( as we call it in India) or edgings (for a more universal ref.) ... and all I did was cut the length I need and stitched the ends together ... taa-daa ... bling-bling napkin ring ... :)
... brass sure seems a hot fav. this season ... why do I feel I'll be bombarding you with more of Indian brasswork in the next few post ... well ... what do I say ... they just seem to come pouring out of all the cupboards ,this year ...
... Hope you enjoyed the tablescape for this festive season ... do tell me if weird ... infectious things are happening to you too ... are colors playing tricks with you as well ... as for things at this end ... oh ! deary me,things are spiralling quite out of control ... festive mood eh! .... well, here's to a beautiful and fun festivite season ... and ofcourse I'll love to here back from all my readers about your side of the story ... :)
I have a duplicate saree- fushia net with the same work that I have never worn. You gave me a good idea about what I could do with it. I thought up abt cushion covers earlier but they would be too rough. What else do u think I could do with it?

The table setting looks great, the pink and the brass with hints of vanilla and gold look fabulous! Great pics as well! For us, Durga puja was busier and now I am busy getting back to my artwork. Diwali this year will probably be a quieter candle lit fragrant time with friends, music and dance!

The picture you are talking about is referenced from the web ... you'll find the credits and links at the end of the post itself ... as far as my imafgination goes ... it is a dries shrub that is used and if you try something like that ... you can easily attach the flowers with a thin wire or tape ... and te white is surely paint on it ... hope this helps ... :)

I did go back into my files and check if I had any shot like the way youwanted it ... :( sorry honey ... but will keep your request in mind for my next tablescape ... but in the mean while let me see if I can describe it to you and if that helps.
The brass ware with flowers is the centre piece for the table layout ... with the cream candles slightly offcentre in front of each place setting ... the china is all white ware with glassware that hasslight middleeastern touch( on the right of the plates) ... the rest I guess is descriptive in the images.

and yep, that is a dupatta ... a very precious one at that ... but these ones come with a good length to be repurposed a tablecoverings as well ... soooo glad you enjoyed it ... :)
