The Romance of Mirrored Furniture ...

When you see that kind of a sale tag ... on such a piece of furniture ... that looks ... that gorgeous ... sitting here.... all I can feel is Ahhh! ... 'wrong time -wrong place' ... and then I wish Horchow would some day start deliveries in India that didn't ... make you think you'd rather save and plan a trip to moon ...

... in the meanwhile I 'll just tell you all about the romance of the mirrored furniture ... I am anyday the biggest preacher of using mirrors in interiors ... so if I had to tell you about the mirror on furniture ... I'd have to start with ... you can't imagine the beauty until you get yourself one ... unless ofcourse you just believe me :) ....

... and if we are talking mirrors ... we are sure talking about a style statement ... how that works for you is ... well ! very personal ... you either like it or you don't ... and if you happen to love it, or could be open to what all this talk is about ... then do come along , as I talk ... and talk ... about these stunning pieces that you'll never miss no matter where ...


We all know ... all about what mirrors can do to your space ... open them up .... make them look big ... when I look at this picture above ... I 'm pretty sure you couldn't agree any less . I really do admire the way the distressed mirror screen continues with that feeling of ... 'don't know where the room begins and where it ends' ...

Besides feeling ...ah! Hollywood ... (in the lovely romantic way)I can't think of how light and open the space feels with the mirrored back panelling and the side board ...

Its Diwali and I am taking time off to to be with my family ... I really hope you had a lovely time with me on this Diwali series ... I have a lot to thank all my readers about ... all the comments that you all leave me ... all the encouragement you send my way ... all the queries ... they are all a lot more than just about blogging ... it means a lot more to me ... this blog is about doing what I like doing best ... what started as an childhood hobby turned into my profession and all along has been my way of life... It brings in my life wonderful people ... people who teach me that its utlimately all about love ...creating love ... spreading love and there's plenty of it coming my way by just what I do ... ( really I don't see myself heading off to the Himalayas anytime soon) ... ;)

Last minute decor for Diwali ... a miniature arrangement ...

Are you looking for some last minute decor tips for Diwali ... or just another feature to add to the well planned out all done up home ... a series of miniature arrangements could be just what you are looking for ...

... a set of glasses and flowers of the same kind ... is probably all you will need ...

... I even thought of using them as a centre piece ... and how about a lovely gilded frame ... for a base ... :)

I swiped one of the paintings done by my daughter ... a nostalgic piece from when she was just about 2 yrs. old ... I love the colors and the gold of the frame ...

... each individual piece placed around the house....just pulls the whole decor together like a common thread ...

... its the simplest decor you can think of ... but when you stand back and look at them ... they look rather charming ...

Did I say Indian brassware was really happening with me this year ... ahh! hope you liked this bit of last minute affair ... do let me know what you think of miniature flower arrangements ... :)

A tablescape for Diwali celebrations ...

There is surely a diwali feel in the air ... the decor is setting the mood ... its fun to experiment and I am having a rose color thing happening this festive season ...


... ah ! well along with the festive bling-bling ... I couldn't resist the Zardozi work on tulle ( net fabric as we popularly call it in India) ... as my table covering ...


... crush tissue napkins ... I loved them with the rose color of the table cover ... I am always hard up on matching my napkin rings for the table settings I create ... well this time I wasn't ... had some gota ( as we call it in India) or edgings (for a more universal ref.) ... and all I did was cut the length I need and stitched the ends together ... taa-daa ... bling-bling napkin ring ... :)

... brass sure seems a hot fav. this season ... why do I feel I'll be bombarding you with more of Indian brasswork in the next few post ... well ... what do I say ... they just seem to come pouring out of all the cupboards ,this year ...

... Sorry I disappeared ... but now I am back ... :)

I have been travelling ... planning and all excited ... oh! its festive season too ... but it also happens to be the time when migratory birds like me start planning their next migration ... come summer ;) ... its crazy but its also hell load of fun ... and I am really hoping all my readers to bear with me as I go along this roller coaster ride to home base ... up north.
I already got my head imagining all the places and things which will soon find their place on my blog ... aah! wishful plannning ... :) I really hope you'll come along and as always tell me how you feel ... do leave me your comments as always and as I journey you are sure to find ton loads of new ideas and options as I too discover them .
In the mean while ... will get back to Diwali mode ASAP ... :)
