Being Inspired .... :)

Texture on texture ... layering the lights ...

                                                    A bit of whimsy and tons of passion ...

 I hit upon a lovely article ... it sort of spoke what I feel ... in terms of entertaining ... yes, I am not the tissue paper, plastic ware and disposable thingie's kind of a person ... and many of us have loads of reason why we love it that way ... a passionate dislike for plastic being quite there on the top of the list ...

 ... aaaaanyways ... I really wanted to share it with many of my like minded readers ... but then me being me ... I like to share my own images ... so a quick dig into my archives and here pop a few shots from a shoot at a project of mine.

Even though this was a display set up.But seriously who doesn't feel awesome sitting at a table the hostess felt like making special for the company.For all the yesss 's out there ... do pop by and have a looky at this article ... here. As the it reads ... Cute things come in small packages ... or ... small projects ... :)

 Recently I helped do up a show space at a conference for a Graphic Designer (a dear dear friend now) ... the brief was ... I got a table ... and ofcourse ... our purpose was to catch eyeballs. Had a days notice and this arrangement popped up ,with all that was available at hand ...

 

 My all time fav. for arrangements are clear glass jars ... and came in handy here are two of them ... the bell jar and a cylinder one inside it, that is actually holding the lily plant. Oh! yes ... I can be very thrifty and lucky for me the dried ficus stems from the garden came in handy to create a layer in between the two jars ... and of course, love the final look ...

 ... here is the piece as it sat on my sofa table ... all prep'ed and ready to go ... :))

 

 And there we made it to the venue all in one piece ... and as always, every project teaches a lesson ... here I got it again ... sooo ... I never under estimate the power of surprise ... no matter how well prepared I may be ... situations always come up ... and knock the wind out of you ... :)) Please do not miss my graphic designer Smita ... still at work ... while we needed her machine to start running the presentation ... ;)

 ... being a smaller installation ... it wasn't a serious situation ... but last minute change of plans sure ... sure ... sure crop up ... :)

 ... but alls well that ends well ...

... hope you liked a peek into a cute lil' installation we did ... and as always ... flowers ... plants and we got tons of eye balls ... :))

A quick hello ... :)

 somedays ... the mind has an over explosion of ideas ... guess! that should be better logic to explain my lack of concentration ... rather than guessing I'm headed down the path to ADD syndrome ...;)) Gosh! but not on the day when I am rather short on work hours ... daylight hours ... kid back early from school and then can't work hours ... :( ... :)) ...

... but then that's just what it is ... after shooing off the ironing guy for tomorrow ... sweet bye-bye's to the maids ... giving a piece of my mind to the crook-of-a stove fixing guy ( insisted all hell would break loose if I didn't get the gas burner's serviced) ... when all I really wanted was the damn knob to be fixed back ... which I'd have taken care of myself ... if only I had the damn screwdriver ... arrrrgh ! ...don't gyp me at 10.00 precious O'clock in the morning ...  

... so while it should be my head getting all *&$@#%  up ... its the primary scratch disk of my editing software that seems all messed up ... ;)) Soooo ... while we wait and I fix ... I look through my pic.'s and well! ... here I am sharing a few of them from the past shoot. Took them while I prepared the room for the styling shoot. And quite as most designer's believe ... shooting what you do ... is a great way to get a third point perspective ... oh! yep ... helps me out a great deal ... no muffling words ... pictures tell you  ... if good is good ... then those ugly spaces  as easily call out your attention too ... :)

I do love how it all turned out ... the lovely team I got to meet ... Ridhi, the features editor ... wow, I owe her so much ... seriously, the bundle of nervous that I become ...  but ... its that absolute faith in me that I see in those who I get to work with ... I think it's that what gets me through . Ridhi, thanks for that unshakable faith in me.
Ravi Dhingra, the photographer for so many of India's Shelter magazine's ... I love the way he has captured the styling. Thanks Ravi  and now I need that lens you got ... :)))

I do hope you'll love the looky and the read ... and soon I'll get to share with all of you ... my clicks as the styling prep. progressed ... over days and many sleepless nights... :)

All in a days work ... :)

 Shoot out ... another shoot out ... :)))) ... I know you'd think I live in the wild-wild west ..Giggle-giggle .. sigh ! I wish!(o.k its the hangover of watching Django over the weekend) ... I mean I did ... but then there wasn't much wildness happening there except for the zoom-zoom of the cars on the freeway and of course the bears in the Yosemite National Park ... ;) And the only kind of shoots that happen in my life are the camera kinda ones ... :)
And yessy  ... I'd make an awful shooter ( of ... with a gun kind) ... cause the last time I was given a gun ... I shot taking aim with the wrong eye... ;) Thank the Lord ... for I  had been married for 13yrs ... and my dad-in-law ...  realised it was too late to disqualify me from the position of  youngest daughter-in-law of the family ... ;)) Gosh! I am such a dope ... :)

 ... anyways , I am pretty safe with the camera ... so that's good ... :)) ... cause headed to come face to face with some solid pro- folks tomorrow ... I am sure they won't mind if after they are done shooting ... I can try my hand too ... :)

 ... best part of styling shoots ... ooooofcourse the flowers.. silly ... :) ... anyways  ... so Yasin, my flower guy ... gave me complete 'How-to-handle flowers' ... class today morning. Yes, Yasin ... will keep your tips in mind ... thankyou. And he also assured me he is soooo loyal that since he couldn't find the greens I had asked him for  ... he risked his life ( flicked them) ... ;)) ... from someones garden ... woooopsy ... good Lord ... Yasin ...  but then he assured me he was o.k ... :)) ...

... and lastly, everytime things start moving and shaking in the house ... my lil' one, Sofiee ... has that look in her eyes ... oh! God! ... there mom goes again ... well! she's chosen her corner ... Aimee darling ... you have to hide in the bathroom ... ;)) Why do they hide ... seriously ... I'm only just moving a few things around ... :))
Well! let me get back to the prep. for the shoot ... I do hope we'll have some nicey shots to share with you soon. OH! ... please do send all those ton's of good wishes my way ... I need loads of them ... :))
