For the abrakophiles ... once again ... ;)

It sure has been a super long time since we talked about our  passion for collecting ... so here's to inspiring the abrakophile in you once again ... and not to mention ... I get to start working with my new camera ... ;))
The other day at the local banjara market ... my daughter grabbed this wooden horse  ... well ! not too difficult to convince your mum if she is as nuts about these things as you are ... ;) ... and so thanks to the lil' brat ... dear ol' mum realised we may just be heading for an interest in collecting horses ...

... so as the story goes ... not only the graceful ming horse that you may spy in the chinese antique stores the most collectible horse ... but in India ... we have a lovely version from different regions ... in the background of the picture above  ... you see a creation from bastar ... originally it had wheels ... but ... woopsy ... ;) ... we lost them over the years ...
In the foreground ... is another precious possesion ... though found in Madhya Pradesh ... I have no clue about its origins except that ... this piece too has wheels and a lil' hook to tie a rope ... so I guess its a childs pull along toy ... :)) ...  the workmanship ... absolutely uncompromisable...

Incase you too have a passion for collecting horses ... would love to have you share your pictures ... no matter which corner of the world you picked them from ... and we'll share them with all our readers ... :)
And incase, you really never paid much attention to these beauties ... well... ;)) ... never too late to start on a new addition ... :))... as you surely know by now ... we love spreading that kind of infections ...;)

Beautiful photos! I collect elephants.

We bought a brass horse in Kerala as a gift for our neighbor's daughter who was pet-sitting our cats while we were in India. They have a horse and she rides horses so it was the perfect gift.

When in India there are so many temptations to buy, it's actually good to have a passion for collecting certain things. It keeps you focused on the fun hunt for that "special thing."
